Posting
With Maskfest just over two weeks away, posting here will be sporadic at best. Your ol' pal the Phantom is spending his time locked away in the workshop putting the final touches on everything for the big show. With a little luck, I may be able to sneak in a post, or even a peek, at my creations before heading out to Indy on September the 11th.
Yours truly...

Moon Monster Tribute Mask
Howdy creeps, it's been a busy build up to Maskfest. I wanted to take a moment and share some pics of a project I've put a lot of time into these past few months. For a couple of years now, I have wanted to release some Ben Cooper/Collegeville style vacuform masks. After much trial and error, I'm proud to announce the Devil's Workshop's first vacuform release, the Moon Monster Tribute.
Each box comes with a full sized screen printed mask. The mask features Moon-Glo blacklight reactive paint, just like the old Collegeville masks. In addition, each box contains a ultra-soft t-shirt. This release will debut at Maskfest where the first 25 copies will be available. There will be an additional run made available to the public later this year. Hope to see you at Maskfest, but in the meantime, here's a sneak peak...

Maskfest 2015 Photos
It's been no secret around these parts that the Maskfest weekend is the Yellow Phantom's favorite weekend of the entire calendar year. There's nothing else quite like it... seeing old friends, making new friends, talking shop, talking smack, sharing several libations, and of course being surrounded by a literal sea of rubber. It's hard to imagine that last year's fest could be improved upon, but it was indeed. The massive influx of new mask makers, first time Maskfest vendors, and returning veteran artists made for the largest gathering of masks and mask makers under one roof that anyone has ever witnessed. It was truly awe inspiring!
I have long given up on trying to take my own photo coverage of Maskfest. It's too easy to get caught up in conversation to attempt to photograph even a fraction of the work on display. For this year's coverage, I've decided to pull photos from Instagram and have credited the sources whenever possible. Unfortunately, these photos don't cover all the amazing artists that were on display, but they offer a good glimpse. More pics coming tomorrow...

More Maskfest 2015 Photos
While pursuing Instagram for Maskfest '15 photos to include in yesterday's post, I was struck by Creeper_Jake's excellent multi-photo collages. Here is a sampling of what Jake shared from Maskfest...

2005 Morbid Industries Catalog
Here's another Morbid Industries catalog to piggyback the Morbid post from last week. The 2005 Morbid Catalog features some amazing sculptures from the likes of Bill Basso and Jordu Schell. Personally, I'm a big fan of the large photo format of this catalog. These scans come from the Night Owl Ghoul's Flickr Photostream.

1964 Don Post Promo Package
This promo pack from Don Post Studios dates back to 1964. This particular set of images was found in an online auction for this rather rare and complete set of single 8x10s (as well an early catalog sheet) featuring the "Universal Horrors" line. Better quality images and scans of these materials have been posted here and here in the past, but never all together as seen here...
